Hi, I came into Clive Coffee to inquire about my broken espresso machine. I was sent to Ken in the repair department who I found to be extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He was also charming and quite funny even though I didn't expect that. He made every attempt to repair my machine and I came to the conclusion that it was time to outfit my home barista with an upgrade. Since we have a large family and lots of friends it was not unreasonable for me to upgrade to the machine of my dreams; the Vivaldi Mini ii. Of course it has to have red panels on the side because my Coffee bar has red cloth panels at the back dividing the coffee bar from the art studio. Back to the reason I am writing this saga. Clive Coffee and in particular Ken made this experience so much fun and I feel I have, not only the perfect machine for my needs, but the support of experts if needed. My gratitude to Ken for all his help and Clive Coffee for offering such great customer service and fabulous products. Looking forward to the training class that I will be signing up for.

I was able to get the Andreja up and running today with the manual I printed from online. All I can say is that even for a total newbie like myself... WOW. I pulled a total of 6 shots (3 for me, 2 for hubby, 1 for munchkin) and made 5 drinks (3 lattes, 2 iced lattes) and they were frigging unbelievable! My husband is marveling that he can feel the caffeine but there is no jittery after effect. I thought given my lack of experience, there would be more of a learning curve. But this machine is so awesome and it makes it so easy.

Thank you for the great information on your web site and for the quick service. Our Bonavita thermal coffee maker arrived yesterday about 5:45PM in great shape. It even got here a day earlier than estimated. I like it. The coffee is very good, much better than any other auto drip maker I have used: Gevalia, Mr. Coffee and Melitta Thermal. And is better than most of my pour over coffees, which I have preferred to the other drip makers. I did learn that the Bonavita and toaster oven used at the same time trips the circuit breaker though, didn't think of that.

I've been using my new Bonavita coffee maker that I ordered from your web site for about 2 weeks now and I have to say that I never thought an electric machine could make coffee this good. It rivals my Chemex, which I never thought possible. Your fair price and free shipping made the order so easy! I just put in an order for a couple 12 oz. bags of your coffee beans since I didn't have time to get to Intelligentsia this weekend. I expect they will be excellent as well. The only downside to the Bonavita is that you can't use mediocre beans with it because just as it brings out the best in fresh, well roasted coffee, it also brings out the mediocrity of poorly roasted coffee. Nothing but artisan coffee from now on!!

The Andreja / Baratza Vario combination that you recommended is working very well. The pump is a bit noisy, but I can't compare with a rotary pump in my same location. It's not unbearable and doesn't last long. I especially appreciate your handling of the return situation with the scratched machine. Excellent customer service. Hi Mark, I just made my first pot of oak aged Sumatra coffee in my new Technivorm. I used the gold toned filter and it may just be the best cup of coffee ever! This is coming from someone who roasts his own beans in a home roaster from time to time and I get good results. But I can't duplicate the wonderful flavor notes of this coffee. I was using a Chemex with steel mesh filter which was fine, but the Technivorm has features I like better,in that it is automatic, saving me time and labor and it keeps the coffee very warm. I'll be ordering more aged Sumatra and trying some of your other coffees as well.

Thanks for the super fast coffee shipment! I ordered on October 14, 2011 and received the next day on October 15th! I have never received anything(coffe or other)I ordered through the mail so fast. I did not expect such a fast shipment so when I received notification that the coffee would be here Saturday the 15th I went to my office and opened up to wait for the mailperson as they won't leave a package at a closed business. Once the mailperson arrived she said she had forgotton the package and I would have to wait until Monday to receive - wanting to try the coffee right away I talked her into calling the(closed)post office annex and authorizing them to give me the package if I went by. Everything worked out good and I tried both coffees already today using a Hario Pour Over for both. Thanks again for the great customer service and the great coffee!

I want to write the whole story of my interaction with Clive to make clear how great these guys are but this is, after all, the internet. So for those helplessly dedicated to brevity, here is the skinny: if you're looking for an espresso machine and great coffee, go talk to the wonderful people at Clive. You will be happy that you did.
Now for those with a slightly longer span of attention, I was looking for a machine, grinder etc as a graduation gift for my wife. The extent of my knowledge was many days of internet research and the fact that I know we both like espresso. The owner guided me through the overwhelmingly complex shot-pulling world, showed me how to work the machines and his colleague came out to help and made me an espresso right there from the machine. As I spoke with the owner, my plan to surprise my wife that evening came up in conversation. As I was finalizing my order, the owner realized that there was a mistake in his inventory and the last model that I wanted sold the day before. I told him that it was not critical that I surprise my wife that evening but I think he saw my slight disappointment. So he cleaned up and boxed the floor model and told me to take it home for the surprise and bring it back the next day. He also dissuaded me from buying the floor model pointing out that it gets a lot of use in demonstrations for customers.
There are more details I would love to share but suffice it to say that the folks at Clive did not miss an opportunity to exceed expectations. Go meet them. They deserve your business.

I recently purchased the Technivorm KBT 741 Mocca master and I LOVE IT!! this coffee maker makes the best pot of coffee ever! Probably because the water reaches the right temperature! 200 Degrees! The only thing I do different is I grind my beans fresh for every pot. I use the same coffee i just buy it in bean form and it tastes great!! The Technivorm is easy to use and the carafe keeps the coffee HOT! and it pours nice as well! Clive Coffee sent me 3 I think pound bags of coffee to sample that i didn't even know i was getting not to mention a whole box of paper filters( i use the swiss gold tone filter! AWESOME!!) How nice to actually get something of quality like the free coffee which is great by the way for free when your not expecting it. I found Clive Coffee online while researching new coffee grinders. It was great to find a place in town that had the one I was looking for. The service was friendly and a very knowledgeable employee helped me to diagnose the potential problem I was having with my old grinder. He even gave me information on how I might be able to fix my old one. After a valiant effort (I ended up breaking the old one beyond repair) I returned to buy the Rancillo Rocky grinder. You can believe all the great comments about both Clive Coffee & the Dutch-built Technivorm Moccamaster coffee maker. I happen to live in Portland & after several hours of researching home coffee makers on the web, I picked one up the other day at their facility. It truly does make a vastly superior cup of coffee, and it is very well made. The sample coffees that they gave me are exceptional as well. I hesitated about this purchase because I thought it wouldn't be worth the money, but I am now convinced it certainly is -- to me -- and now I am glad that I have this wonderful machine. Oh, when I called to say a second flat lid for the thermal carafe was missing from the box, the one that lets the carafe fit back under the filter holder (the other one for table use doesn t), they promptly mailed one out to me. You simply can t go wrong in dealing with this company or their products!

Just wanted to let you know how much my parents love the Rancillio Silvia machine. My father (87 years old) has had a large Pavoni from the early 1960s from Italy. He was having problems getting parts for the machine but refused to stop making coffee on it even though it was difficult for him at his age. (It has the old pull lever.)

He had bought my sister and I each a Rancillio Lucy 20 years ago but did not purchase one for himself. We have enjoyed ours.

Finally I decided to purchase one for him and my mom even though they continued to refuse. It was delivered a week ago and they have been using it everyday. It makes great coffee like our Lucy. They are very pleased with it.

With one quick read of the instructions I was able to pull a perfect cup with loads of crema in my first attempt! This is exactly what I've been looking for for years. Our experience with CLIVE COFFEE has been a TEN on a scale of zero to TEN:
1. Very prompt service. Delivery was within 24 hours. Unit was very well packed.
2. Easy to assemble and operate.
3. Free sample coffee packages (4 of them) is the same as a $44 discount!! (17% off list).
4. Free shipping and no sales tax also a definite plus.
5. Pre-heating/warming the thermos is most easily accomplished in our house by running Water through the machine without filter/coffee. This results in HOT water to warm The thermos prior to brewing. Our house hot water is set at 145 deg F to prevent scalding Of children in the shower; plus, early in the morning water is wasted running until the water gets from the hot water heater to the kitchen sink.
6. The unit exceeds our expectations; and, far exceeds the performance of any coffee makers We have had in the past.
7. We are very, very happy��for once having something that DOES perform as advertised.

Ok, I will be the first person to admit that I am not a coffee nut...but I love this coffee maker! I had some pre grinded coffee and this coffee maker works wonders. I really look forward to my first cup of coffee. Before, I never finished all the coffee in my cup but now I do. I realize that I spent quite a bit of $$$ but it is worth it. I have not been using cheap coffee makers all these years � all in the $100 - $150 range, but I just didn�t know about Technivorn. Some friends of mine have one and they made me a believer. I am so excited...like most customers that you've probably seen purchasing the Technivorm, I did extensive research and read lots of reviews. Once I decided on the Technivorm, it was tough deciding on the square or round version (height/carafe vs aesthetic issue...) Reading the reviews was VERY HELPFUL to me as I decided whether and what to purchase. In particular: the recommendation to use a setting of 30 on the grinder made a big difference, and we bought the CDT model because of feedback that with the CDT model the pot fits back under the filter with the lid on it. It's a small thing but really seems to matter. We even shimmed up the main unit a fraction of an inch and took off the drip plate so we can still be half asleep and it's easy to replace the pot with lid on. But, we're not half asleep for long! Love it!.

Just a note to THANK YOU so much for the recent shipment! I had the good fortune to call your business last Thursday for some general questions on the Technivorm line of coffee makers. The gentleman I talked to was really friendly, helpful and didn�t project a �sales� mode � I decided during the call to go ahead with a purchase of a Moccamaster. Placing the order online on Thursday, the product arrived on Saturday, with Friday as a generally regarded holiday! The shipment was perfectly packed, and everything worked out very well.

Le'lit showed up yesterday evening. Packing was great, no damage. Got to check it out this morning and all of the features seem to work. It sure looks like it's built good. Plenty of hot water and plenty of steam. You know, I have been drinking espresso and cappuccino for going on 40 years. I had my little steam driven Krups a few years back and a $69 steam pump Delonghi with a pressurized portafilter that didn't create 9 bar so it never created an espresso just strong coffee.
I am certainly a novice but have read a lot and understand the fundamentals. I also believe what I've read that it's all about the grind. I will hold any reservations about my grinder for now. It is a $100 flat burr grinder that seems to perform well. If and when the time comes I'll keep you in mind for my grinder
Well it's been a couple of hours and guess what ... I can make espresso. Check it out...crema and frothy milk. who would have guessed...I can make espresso.
Such a long way to go and a lot to learn but it is obvious to me that this machine is exactly what I expected.

I placed my order at 3:17pm PDT 6/18/09. The UPS truck left my driveway about 15 minutes ago, make it 3:09pm PDT 6/19/09. From Portland OR through Seattle and Burlington to Mount Vernon WA in under 24 hours!!!
The only way to get it here faster would be by Taxi, and that definitely would not be "free shipping".

I ordered a Technivorm KBT-741 coffee maker last Wednesday. Even though I ordered it after the cut-off time of 3PM, I received a notice that evening that my order had shipped. Probably owing somewhat to my proximity from your store, I got the coffee maker the next day. I believe it really shows class that you included packages of your coffee and some filters, so that I would be ready to go right out of the box.

Hi....just a little note....my husband purchased the Moccamaster for me a few months back. Boy, I am I lovin' it....At first, I felt he might have gone overboard, as I was used to using a simple french press. But what a difference!!! Also, I was a die-hard Illy Med. Roast Expresso whole bean junkie, but I tried the Guat. organic bean that came with the Moccamaster - enjoyable!
