Who is Forward Edge International?

Forward Edge International is a faith-based missions and relief organization that addresses the urgent needs of afflicted people worldwide by mobilizing volunteers to help initiate and sustain long-term projects and relationships.

What They Do

By mobilizing hundreds of volunteers each year, Forward Edge International (FEI) alleviates suffering through disaster-response work, health-care projects and programs for at-risk children. Since 1983, more than 11,000 ordinary people have found extraordinary purpose through serving with Forward Edge in many parts of the U.S. and 34 nations. Forward Edge International brings the tangible things that these communities desperately need: housing, health, infrastructure, education. They bring a message of faith, love, and hope to those that are suffering.

Projects That Clive Coffee Supports

Clive Coffee roasted a special Nicaraguan coffee to benefit the Villa Esperanza, a delightful villa that was built to provide a home for young girls that used to live on the garbage dump outside of Managua. 100% of the profit from this coffee is was sent directly to Villa Esperanza, which added up to several thousand dollars. We will be doing another special roast for the Villa soon.

Villa Esperanza, "Village of Hope" is a safe haven for vulnerable children from La Chureca (a village inside the Managua city dump). The Villa is designed to include a number of children's homes, each housing eight children and a house parent. This family environment will ensure each child is given special attention and care. In 2008, the first 16 girls and two house moms came to live on the Villa Esperanza property. The goal is to move the next group of children and housemoms in late 2009.

Along with providing a safe environment for the most at-risk Nicaraguan children, Villa Esperanza will provide new hope and a future for the children. These precious children will be given medical care, vocational training, educational assistance, spiritual guidance and much-needed counseling.

With future special roasts, Clive Coffee will be supporting the clean water projects that FEI is undertaking. More info to come.
