The Frieling french press combines the build quality of a Sherman tank with the stylish nonchalance of an Eames lounger. We've been using ours since 2002 and the mirrored finish still shines like it did the first day we opened it up.
It's easy to make delicious coffee with this press: boil fresh water, pour over coursely ground coffee beans, let steep for four minutes, then press the plunger down. The fine mesh screen will keep all the grounds at the bottom of the pot until you have poured out all of the coffee. If you can make a PB&J sandwich, you can make excellent coffee with this press.
This press is insulated with double wall 18/10 stainless steel. It will keep your coffee hot for at least 30 minutes, but to avoid over extracting our coffee we pour our freshly pressed coffee into a Stelton vacuum jug.
The Frieling press is a modest investment to make in your coffee brewing ritual. Because it's so sturdy and makes such excellent coffee, we take our Frieling press to the Oregon coast for summer camping/surfing weekends, then bring it home, wash it out, and it's ready to go for Sunday brunch when the family's coming over.
