This Ethiopian Sidamo offers a lemony aroma with hints of raspberry. Its lightly herbal, citric and floral flavors are complimented by crisp acidity and a light, silky body. A sweet, pleasant berry aftertaste lingers in the finish.
Why Swiss Water?
The Swiss Water decaffeination process uses no chemicals to remove caffeine from coffee, just fresh, clean water! This means that you don't have to worry about chemicals or a funny-tasting cup.
To decaffeinate coffee, the folks at Swiss Water first soak the green coffee beans in water that is saturated with water-soluble solids from green coffee. With the help of temperature changes, after about ten hours the caffeine transfers from the bean into the saturated water. The caffeine is then extracted from the water with a carbon filter.
During this process, everything is closely monitored to ensure proper caffeine extraction while retaining the body and flavor of the green coffee bean.
The Swiss Water Process results in green coffee that is 99% caffeine free, but still as flavorful and rich as fully caffeinated coffee.
